Braun vs Wright

i have him in keeper league too and i'll be sad to see him lose his 3B eligibility. i already have a bunch of OFs that i need to keep...

If Braun continues to hit like this by the All-Star break in 2008 then I would give Braun the slight edge. However, it's still way too premature to rank Braun ahead of Wright.

It's pretty obvious that Braun has more HR potential. Wright might only be a 30-35 HR player during his peak years, while Braun should surpass 40 HRs several times, but at this point all of that is unknown. What is known is that Wright is pretty much a lock to be a top 25 player, year-in and year-out barring injury. Braun, on the other hand, hasn't even hit his first slump and as we found out earlier this year, every player goes through a rough patch at a certain point--- even Pujols.

I wish Andy Laroche was Ryan Braun-good. Ugh.

The worst part is he'll do it in a Pirates uniform.

Looking back on this thread, it makes me grateful to have M-Cab and now Braun in a dynasty league. The problem is I'd have to search for a new 3B in 2009.

I think it was evident that Braun's average would go down from Pujols-esque to a .290-300 level with his K/BB rate as it was and is now. However, Braun makes up for it with great bat speed with a smooth, compact swing which translates into higher power potential as well as those beastly stretches that can carry a team each week.
