Seems to me that 2B is getting thinner and thinner each year. How do you see the rankings playing out next year afterthe unanimous Utley at #1?
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

Without looking at anything, I'd probably say... Phillips Roberts Upton (still available next year) Uggla I might be missing someone or something obvious, but my internet is running too slow to do any research.

I agree with that list, but I might switch Roberts and Upton. Also, I'd throw Howie Kendrick into the mix if he can stay healthy. He certainly has the goods to be a good option at 2B, but he's been hurt a lot.

Actually 10 2B who are eligible next season at the spot are currently top 100 players in Yahoo. Utley, Phillips, Roberts, Uggla, Polanco, Upton, Johnson, Cano, Figgins, Kent. And there are still other guys like Kinsler out there who can be productive. Productive 2B are out there even if they arent studs.

Upton and Phillips are pretty close...but..anyone know why Upton hasn't stolen a base since coming off the dl? His speed is looking 100% now.

While the 2nd tier at 2B seems to be getting more crowded, there's still a HUGE drop off from the elite (Utley) to the almost elite (Roberts and Phillips) and an even bigger drop of to the 2nd tier. 10 2Bs in the top 100 sounds like a lot, but there's also 30 OFs in the top 100 12 1Bs in the top 100 13 3Bs in the top 100 7 SSs in the top 100 But in the top 50 there's: 3 2Bs 20 OFs 6 1Bs 5 3Bs 6SSs So more 2B depth in the top 100, but less "stud" 2Bs

Quad injury sidelined him for over a month. Once he regains full strength, I expect him to run more. Might not be much this year tho.
