Thanks to these boards, Braun, Pence, Gallardo, Hughes, Lincecum, are all part of my team. I'm in a basic 5X5 non-keeper league. Claims are done once a week, worst to first place.

I'm now in second place, just 1.5 pts out of first.

I have another owner talking to me about a mega trade. I may be looking at my Braun, Jeter, Bedard for his H. Ramirez, Santana, and Putz. We'll see. But having Braun gives me that option, as I also have Wright at 3B.

Thanks for these boards. It is a great resource to many.

Thanks to the cafe I picked up Braun, Lincecum and Hughes (turned him in a trade for M. Rivera just before Hughes went down). I missed on Gallardo, but Braun has been a monster. And I didn't even need a 3B with MCab already on my roster.

if you take braun's jersey number and tilt it 90 degrees it shows the extent of his power

I claimed him off waivers when he was called up in 2 leagues. In one league, (it's fairly shallow), some thought I was an idiot for burning my #1 waiver on him!! :-D

Needless to say I have a HUGE man crush on the guy, as I'm sure many of you on here do as well!! I am not afraid to admit it either!! :-D :-b :*)

This is probably the best descirption I've heard of Braun because its simple and to the point. In terms of fantasy impact he's this year's Liriano.

Aug 5 The Associated Press reports Milwaukee Brewers 3B Ryan Braun hit his 20th homer of the season Sunday, Aug. 5, in his 64th game. He became the fastest Brewer to reach 20 career homers and the second fastest in MLB since St. Louis Cardinals 1B Albert Pujols reached 20 homers in his 63rd game in 2001. Braun also has 53 RBI.

IINM, Braun is now the fastest to reach 21 homers, in 65 games.

I was looking at Albert's 2001 stats, and his 20th on June 12th (his 63rd game) was his 4th straight in as many games. After that 4-game streak, he he only hit one home run over the next 24 games, and only 17 more over July/Aug/Sept.

So, there's a very good chance Braun could set a pretty high mark for the fastest to reach 25/30/35/40? homers.

EDIT: If I did my math right, he's hitting one every 3 games. If he maintains this pace, he'll finish with 38 homers in 118 games.
