I think the Rays shouldn't give him a Sept call-up, what do you think?

I really think they should if they have any hopes of him making the bigs right out of spring training. It they want him to get say 200 at bats in Durham, then let him stay there and start the season at Durham next year and then get promoted to Tampa. But if they have ideas of him breaking camp a Devil Ray, then he really needs to get called up this September if nothing else to sit the bench and get used to the big league ways of doing things. We can learn from the Royals mistake with Alex Gordon, so lets use it to our advantage.

So you don't think the mistake with Gordon was not having him play at all in AAA? I thought the problem Gordon had was going right from AA to AAA, which is almost what we would be doing with Evan.

I think the problem was Gordon was pushed up to the bigs and expected to be a star from the get go. The Royals should have either let him come up last September to get ready or sent him down to AAA in April to just get ready for the big time. I loved the way they handled Butler, but they really shafted Gordon a few months imo.

7 innings, 9 Ks, and a win sounds good to me.
