Hey guys, should there be a strategy when drafting in a league that counts OPS? do guys like David Ortiz gain alot of value while guys like Juan Pierre lose value?

There will be a different Stategy with any extra cat. Pierre loses a little value because SB is one of 6 cats instead of 1 of 5. The Sluggers gain a little because again SB in 1 of 6 vs 1 of 5.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. -Crash Davis
Stewie : [watching a baseball game] Why does that man drop his club before he runs? I would bring it with me!

It affects it a great deal. Players who walk and with power such as Thome and Thomas become gold and players who do neither drop because you are getting one entire goose egg from them in that cat. Plus, like it was mentioned, one category like steals becomes less important. If I were you I'd go heavy on these guys because usually most people are slow to adapt to changes in scoring categories. This could be a big advantage for you if you are on the ball.

Speed guys like Castillo and Pierre rarely have high OPS because sucking at slugging hurts. Their OPS will probably hurt you. That's another way they lose value.
