Chipper Jones (no, not an injury)

I read today on Rotoworld that since Renteria sprained his ankle, for the time that he's out, Chipper will be playing SS for the first time since '00. As soon as I read that, I was thinking how nice this must be to some owners, if he gains eligibility at SS. Of course this still depends on the severity of the injury and how many games it takes to be eligible in your league.

I wouldn't be surprised if Chipper sat out a few games as well. He bruised his thumb in last night's 14-inning affair, but had to remain in the game because the Braves had used up all of their PHs. He was icing his thumb between innings.

chipper has played too many games without getting hurt. no doubt an DL stint is coming.

Yunel Escobar played SS today. He's the guy I'd expect to be in there while Renteria's out. Maybe Chipper would spell somebody at SS for an off-day, but even in that case, I'd think Braves would use Woodward. Don't go trading for Chipper expecting him to become a SS in a few days....
