If you are in a keeper league I am telling you now PICK BUCHHOLZ UP. This kid is going to be a stud bucket. I have gone to all the pawtucket games since he has been called up to triple A and he has given up runs but this kid dominates hitters. He throws consistent 94mph fastballs and then boom drops the hammer with sick changeup or curveball. Last nights game he pitched 6.1innings with 9SO, 5H, 2ER and I tell you now the first 2-3 innings the other team couldn't even put the ball in play. Some guys looked foolish when they struckout, with one guy almost dropping the bat out of his hands. His minor league numbers are gaudy 105.0 innings, 2.14 era, 146SO, 0.186AVG. Since being called up to triple A he has 30SO in 18innings. Pick this kid up immediatly trust me you will be happy next year and many after.

I was at the game as well, and he did look impressive.
He was striking out people by mixing his curve and slider with his fastball.
The gun looked a little bit juiced (I saw Jeremy Sowers hit 93), but Clay doesn't need to throw as hard as other guys since he's able to throw his breaking balls so well.

He will most likely get in the bullpen in september then he should win a rotation spot next year when schilling leaves. Pick this Kid up now and reap the rewards next year trust me.

I saw him in his previous start. 10ks in 5 innings... pretty impressive stuff. For a keeper league, he is definately worth stashing away.
