Adam Jones - Mariners

I remember reading that they were having Jones start every 4th game or something to that effect in Right Field in the minors.

Which may explain why Jose Guillen is so pissed off about him being called up. Maybe he will be moving to Left to make room for Jones.

As clarkw267 said they did start playing him in RF every 4th game so the Ibanez to LF, Jones at RF sounds like a possibility. We'll see tomorrow.

Aug 2 - Contrary to previous reports, Jim Street, of Mariners.MLB.com, reports Seattle Mariners OF Adam L. Jones will join the team Friday, Aug. 3. While it is unknown exactly where Jones will fit into the lineup, the team will certainly make room for the talented prospect to contribute.

Aug 1 - The Mariners are expected to recall Jones from Triple-A Tacoma soon, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Jones, a first-round draft pick four years ago, could see ample playing time for the Mariners once he gets recalled. He is one of the Mariners' top prospects and could have been a part of a deal at the non-waiver trade deadline on Tuesday. The Mariners instead opted to hold on to him. Jones hit .216 with one home run and eight RBIs in 32 games for the Mariners in 2006.

On Friday before the game, WEEI did an interview with Seattle's manager, and he was pretty clear about the idea that Jones was not going to play every night. The question asked of him was about the veterans, and how they felt about this move, and he said he had a talk with them, and explained this to them...
