is there any point in playing in a league that shallow???

why even bother paying attention? Just draft and then check on oct. 1 to see how it all went....

i have to pick up 1 or 2 players everyday to compete. though its my first time playing, it seems like a larger league would be more draft-and-watch than a small league where we play matchups a lot due to a decent FA pool.

But in a deep league you need to know what a whole ton of players are doing and who the latest call-ups are in order to snatch up potentially important components to win a championship.

Whereas, in a shallow league, if you don't like your closer situation you go to the free agent list and find.......... bona fide closers Todd Jones and Bobby Jenks.

Lets talk about Huston Street?

from Yahoo:

Aug 3 Mychael Urban, of Athletics.MLB.com, reports Oakland Athletics CL Huston Street, who has been off the DL since July 24, feels he is ready to take over the closing role from RP Alan Embree. Embree had been filling in for Street while he was out, but Street feels that now he is back he should have the position back. "I've been ready for, like, a week," Street said. "I told them that, so it's just when they want to throw me out there."

Come on now. He gave up a hit and a walk, then got out the next 3 batters, King the final 2. He'll be fine. Casilla's in. :-D
