Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Twins and free agent infielder Jose Offerman agreed to terms on a minor league contract Monday.
The deal includes an invitation to spring training for Offerman, who could fill the role of utility infielder after Denny Hocking signed with Colorado in the offseason.
The 35-year-old last played in the major leagues in 2002 when he hit .232 for Boston and Seattle. He played with Bridgeport in the independent Atlantic League last season.
Offerman, a two-time All-Star, broke into the majors in 1990 with Los Angeles and owns a career batting average of .274.
