Top Ten SP for 2008

Not sure why Webb wouldn't be a lock for top 10. A groundball/strikeout pitcher who's team is getting better. He's easily top 10 for me.

Agreed completely, Webb has to be in the top 10.

Roy Oswalt is struggling, but he's as consistent as they come. He deserves to be mentioned.

I agree Haren probably won't finish this season with his current numbers. However I'll still rank him around 5 or so because of his durability/consistency, i.e., I could draft him early and not worry whether I got this year's Oswalt (personal thoughts not based on a lot of research). Webb would definitely be in my top ten. Lastly I will not pass over Bedard in the 15th round again

What consistency? Prior to this, his career year, he's been a consistently average to below-average fantasy pitcher.

Haren's been a horse for me these last 3 seasons. Definitely not average

It was only a matter of time before he broke out. Im glad I hung on to him as long as i did.

I'm not questioning his talent. But the post I responded to spoke of Haren being a top 5 pitcher due to his consistency amongst other things.

I just question how a pitcher that's consistently been hovering around 4 ERA with mediocre WHIP has consistently proven himself as a top 5 pitcher. Aside from this year, which is a severe outlier looking over his career in the minors and majors, he's never been even close to a top 5 and his only consistency is that he's consistently been pretty average as a fantasy pitcher.

Aside from this year, are those the stats you want in your ace?! He's certainly made a case for being in the top 5 with this year so far, but consistency has nothing to do with it. That's all I'm saying.

Also, it's funny how a half season of Haren and Oswalt have completely reversed their respective values. In fact, I don't think I've seen Oswalt on a list yet. He's got quite the history to just be writing him off.
