I remember Mark Prior getting the callup in 2002 (seems like further back than that, but I looked it up
). He certainly didn't post the best rookie season ever, but he burst onto the scene mid-season (a la Braun) and pitched some amazing games. He ended up with 147 Ks in 116 IP
, and was a Top 20 draft pick in all leagues the next season.

Liriano pitched out of the pen for month and a half. Was really dominant for 16 starts = half the season but anyway.
