I dont necessiarly see it that way. I am sure most everyone has a dirrfent approach to drafting but I dont believe I have ever taken a starting pitcher before round 4 and probably never will.

Well Ive never won with drafting an ace right away. Pitching is so damn unpredictable. I'm thinking now about offense in the first couple rounds. Then an ace. More offense for a couple rounds and a closer. Something like that.

I agree to an extent...hence each draft is different, I mean guys do fall. you can't just say Im gonna take a SP in round 3 and another in round 5. You can't just follow a format. While I do have a draft startegy that I belive to work for me....it dosen't involve set picks and I will always change the game plan based on the specific draft.

With that said its not so much what is a good round to take a SP.

Obivoulsy Prior and Pedro are worth 1st round picks.

Obviously Halladay, Hudson, Schmidt, Schilling, Wood are worthy of round 2 - round whatever.

settle down buddy! You play your way, i'll play mine, its called personal strategy. I just wanted to know GENERALLY in what rounds most people here go for an ace. Personally i can tell you i wont go for a starter in the first 2 rounds, and that wont change, no matter who is taken beforehand. But see that's my PERSONAL STRATEGY. And it is also a general statement! I wasnt asking in the sense i wanted a solid, concrete answer. Just some advice on what has worked for people when they took starters in certain rounds. Thanks for your advice though......oh hang on, you didnt gimme any - scratch that. ha.
