Need a good SP Sleeper

Postby baseball_playa18 » Mon Feb 09, 2004 9:59 pm

I'm in the last round of a 10 team, 26 player draft. Not many SP left, I'd like to take a chance on a younger pitcher with a lot of potential. Any suggestions? The ppl I have come up with so far are Jimmy Gobble, Brandon Claussen, Jose Acevedo and that's a/b all I have so far, I need some suggestions. Thanks for the help.

If there are only 10 teams, there should be better pitchers available than that. :-?

Is that really the best there is available?

John Thompson, going to the braves, sleeper in my opinion. Take a chance on Rich Harden if your game.

Thats not the best available...

but I'd like to take a chance on a young pitcher rather than take a solid guy thats for sure gonna give me 10 wins and a 4.00 era. That is pretty much all thats available, guys that will get 10-12 wins, and high ERA, but my league counts losses too and those guys will also lose a/b the same. So rather than take someone like that, I'd like to go with a younger player that may have a breakout year. The worst that can happen is the young guy doesnt do good but then all I have to do is drop him and I can pick up one of those solid guys.

How about Adam Eaton Or Jon Lieber

--Even though im not sure on Lieber because he is coming off of Tommy John Surgery. Only if your willing to risk it then I'd say pick him.

I like the Padre's trio of Lawrence, Eaton, and Peavy as sleepers.

How about Jeff Weaver in LA
