I would put Phillips ahead of Lecroy.

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

Either one will give you somewhere around .270-.275 with 12-15 homers. I'd stick with Phillips because he'll give you 1B and C eligibility.

I got LeCroy with better numbers, but it's really a tossup. But if you're looking for a 1b who'll be eligible at catcher I think Wilson of Pittsburgh will put up the best numbers but nobody's talking about him. He'll be hitting 4 or 5 in the lineup which, although is not a great lineup, is still better than being used only most of the time if not less like Lecroy and Phillips. Pitt is relying heavily on the kid, so he should get many more AB's then the other two.

From every thing I have read about Lecroy so far, I have put him on my super sleeper list for this season. First off, he will be the full-time DH for the Twins this season, which means 450-Pluss AB's. I have also read several sources that have him batting in the clean-up spot this year. This year he is 1B and Catcher eligible. His career AVG. is only.262, but last season's .287 is what I think he will be close to this year. He will be an awesome late round Catcher steal.

I'd take LeCroy over Phillips if I knew he'd be starting all season. But Morneau is going to get called up and LeCroy will lose some time at DH. Morneau could take over full time as DH if he does well enough, and Minky is solid defensively at 1B so I think he'll stay there too. That leaves LeCroy as the odd man out. For that reason, I'd take Phillips, who will also be an everyday player, but has more job security.
