I hope this guys explodes and becomes great but imo I think an optimistic performance would be somewhere like a Cody Ross or a Jason Werth type player. At best, a Jeffrey Hammonds type. Still, valuable but likely a 4th OF at best with maybe a few good years if he can stay in the majors. Hammonds did have years of 17,20, & 21 Hrs as well as a year of 106 RBIs while batting .335 for the Rockies in 2000. But Ankiel is likely not the next Josh Hamilton or Jason Bay.

I've been hearing that Pujols(elbow) and Rolen(shoulder) are both facing possible surgery due to their ailments.

I am a Cardinals fan and NEVER heard anything about surgery about Pujols.....I would remember because I read the forums quite a bit and have Pujols on my fantasy team. As for Rolen, I don't remember anything about that either.

BTW, I think Ankiel's promotion really hurts the possibilty that Rasmus will be called up in Sept.

word is Rasmus is staying in AA for the remainder of the season. That came down before Ankiel was called up, though the plans for Ankiel to come up in September have been known for a while so I don't think Rasmus was going to be up anyway.
