First of all, there is no confirmation from anyone even associated with the Yankee organization that this is true...no word from Torre yet on what the lineup will look like.
Second, don't you think the Torre is smart enough to realize that with Soriano being the free-swinger that he is, he needs some lineup protection in order to produce? Torre is a very smart manager, I'm not sure he would put a 40/40 candidate at the bottom of the lineup.
Fantasy sites and mags can speculate all they want, but I won't believe it until I see it...even with the strikeouts, it doesn't make sense to put him in the 8 hole...he may not lead-off, but I can't see him at #8.
