For a while, I thought this was a slump and kept thinking he would get it going but after a while, I just completey gave up on that fantasy. I looked at his split stats, and it showed that his post-all star numbers were actually worse than his pre-all star numbers, that just brought me down. I'm trying to trade him away for some pitching but a .254AVG with 14HR and 54RBI doesn't really look that special.

That's what I kept telling people but for some reason they believe Wells will magically turn it around. If you look closely he's only had 2 great seasons, '02 and '06, other than that his other years are very Jose Guillen-esk. Coupled with his huge contract he just signed I don't know why it's so hard to believe he'll revert back to his average numbers or have a down year.

if you look closer, he already has. .287 in the last month with an OPS close to .900.

He had a stretch of about a week-and-a-half a while back where he was hitting the ball really well (which was right after I dealt him for Jermaine Dye). Then he went back to slumping. I drafted him on the strength on his 2006, thinking he had turned a corner. But I doubt I'll ever draft him again. I hate these guys that are talented, but have the potential to put up really mediocre seasons. I think next year a lot of people may get burned by Torii Hunter the way they got burned by Vernon Wells this year.

sadly enough, it's gotten to the point to where he was dropped in my 10 team money league...i used my waiver on him hoping he'll get it going...but i'm not seeing it yet.
