I love the deal, first off the mets gave up next to nothing, but more importantly i think Castillo is a perfect fit for the mets. Hes a perfect 2nd hitter for the mets with his combination of speed and average and hes a big defencive upgrade over gotay. Not a huge deal but definatly a good one for the mets imo ;-D

I don't understand why the Twins would essentially give this guy away.
Pretty fantastic move for the Mets. I'd be more confident with Castillo than Gotay going into the postseason.

You would hae thought the draft picks for the pending-FA Castillo would have garnered more than what the Mets gave them. But they did get the rest of this season's contract off the books.

Maybe this is half a move. A lot of moves don't make sense because they have another half to them.
Then they use the money from Castillo to get ________?
Burrell + cash?

Can't say I'm all too excited about Castillo but maybe those draft picks will turn into something. I would have preferred to see Gotay continue. However, I'm not real confident that he's this good so maybe it's for the best.
