Thinking about dropping John Buck for him.. is that a no-brainer?

I'd take salty after the top 4 Cs: VMart, Martin, Mauer, and Piazza. After these guys I'd plug Salty into my lineup.

And McCann also. He's a top 7 or 8 catcher no doubt. If you're using someone like Bengie Molina, Yorvit Torrealba, or Johnny Estrada right now, you're gonna want to hop on the Salty bandwagon very quickly.

Is he better than Barrett for the rest of the year?

If Barrett were still in Chicago, I'd say it would have been a wash. With Barrett splitting time with Bard in SD, I'd say he's MUCH better. Not to get off topic but I wonder if Michael Barrett has any ties to Tim Donaghy. Look how dominant Carlos Z has been since he's been shipped out, run shaving? (I know I'm only kidding)
