God, please move Druw out of the 4-hole! That man has wasted more RBI opportunities this year....
Heck, move him down to like 7th! I'll take McCann/Frenchy behind Chipper and Teixeira before Andruw!
But of course, this is wishful thinking, and as BUCCOFAN pointed out, he'll no doubt hit after Druw so we can take full advantage of him being a switch-hitter. (Never mind that this will limit his RBI chances to those times and AJ strikes out with runners rather than grounding into a DP. >_<)

Rangers owner Tom Hicks said Tuesday he offered Mark Teixeira and his agent Scott Boras an eight-year, $140 million contract extension in mid-July, but the first baseman turned it down.
Hicks said Teixeira’s refusal necessitated the club’s shopping the player and ultimately trading him to the Braves.
“We wanted Tex to be a Ranger for life,” Hicks said. “I let him know that if he didn’t accept the offer that we were going to trade him, so he made that decision.”
The deal would have been worth about $18 million a year, plus whatever Teixeira earned in arbitration for next season, Hicks said.

What a joke... I called it. He will seek $20+ a year and I wonder if someone will be stupid enough to pay him.

Wow, good luck trying to sign him to an extension Atlanta.
I also think he's looking for the $20M mark. He'll need a BIG year next year for that to happen though (ie, .290, 40 HR, 120 RBI). If he gets hurt again, the injury prone label will be hard to ignore.

He will need to have MVP type season. Possible he can do it of course since he is immensely talented but I have my doubts. I think he will regret not signing that contract with Hicks. This trade is looking better for Texas.

I wonder if he just wanted to get out of Texas and go to a contender. Everything I've heard from him made it sound like he was happy here, but it doesn't make sense why he wouldn't sign that contract if that were the case. Of course that is also assuming that Hicks is telling the truth and not just fudging the numbers a bit in order to soothe upset Ranger fans.

It's possible but Hicks throws a lot of money around so I think he turned it down. I really think that he and Boras think that he will get $20+ year if has a monster season on a contender. We'll see.
