Astros send Wheeler to D-Rays for Wigginton

The Astros found what they believe will be their third baseman for the near future today by acquiring Ty Wigginton and cash considerations from the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in exchange for reliever Dan Wheeler.

What a stupid trade for Houston. Wigginton is a one dimensional player who is probably best at platooning. Seems like the reliever market is down somewhat this year.

Lamb is the one who will most likely be dealt because of this trade, Loretta and others are not as certain. I personally don't mind this deal, I was never a big Wheeler fan anyways.

Well, when Baldelli comes back Upton likely goes to 2B. Also, Reyes is in fact a pending FA after this year with a team option.

No Baldelli will be playing a lot of DH for the rest of the year to keep him healthy and try and work a trade. The Rays want Upton in CF and see him as our future there. My point on Reyes was that we own the option, so we can pick it up if we want, if we want him next year we can ahve him, so there is no need to move him unless we get something.
