He is worth considering depending on the depth of your league and the categories you might want.

Injury risk is extremely high, power is good-to-moderate, RBIs should be solid, and .300 hitter. Over his career, he does have a 30+ point spread on BA against LHP but he's still good against RHP. I think he hits too low in the lineup to have significant impact on R. Forget about any SB impact.

I'd say he can definitely help in BA, possible help on HR and RBI and will be average (at best) on R.

Considering he is around 40 and hasn't played in some time I wouldn't count on him contributing immediatly, but sure he could contribute something useful once he gets settled back in.

depends on who you drop, really. I being a Mets fan, am alright his back, but i do expect him to have minor injuries the rest of the way. if you are thinking about dropping a solid player on your team, then dont. if you have someone thats just taking up more, theres reason for you to add alou.
