Russell Martin---Back?

CDM sports lists Martin as possibly out tonight with a bad back ----but I cant find anything else about it anywhere on the WEB.

Per Sporting News:

Martin was supposed to get a night off Friday even before the club's rainout in Colorado. He also is scheduled to sit on Monday.
Fantasy Source spin: Keeping Martin fresh for the stretch drive is not a bad thing at all. Take the zeroes now (or, if you're a daily leaguer, begin scouring for a replacement now) in the hope that he'll be a hero in September.

Haven't heard anything about his back.

I''ve heard on the Dodger telecasts about the sore back...
possibly why his B.A. has dropped from .315 to under .300 in the last 10 days or so...

Russell Martin was able to rest his sore back Friday and do so without sitting out a game.

Rain or shine, Martin was supposed to get the day off, in part because of stiffness he has been experiencing in his lower back.

"I've been kind of grinding it out the last couple of days," Martin said. "Normally, I don't like days off at all, but I'm going to cherish this one."

Martin will be back in the lineup today but rest again Monday, when the Dodgers are off.

So yes Martin will rest on Monday, because it is an off day but will be in the lineup on Saturday. I'll try to keep this updated if I hear anything else. I'm sure there might also be a possibility that Martin sits on Sunday to give him two days off from catching. Logically this would make sense to try to get him to rest the sore back, so we'll see what Grady does.

What about the rain-out last night? Will there be a make-up double-header? Martin would lose another game played.

The double-header will take place when the Dodgers go back to Colorado sometime in September. So only 1 game Saturday and 1 game Sunday.
