I stated he's injury prone (something Sean Casey is as well). Casey had a huge following with the Tribe and with the Reds. He's been a mild disappointment with his lack of power and run production.

I disagree Casey Kotchman is overlooked by anyone that follows the minors whatsoever -- and that's with the fact he's been off the field more than on.

Nothing wrong with being Sean Casey -- since he is a starting 1B in the majors. I just find it baseless to say he'll be as good as Helton when he can't stay healthy.

we are saying if he can stay healthy, he has had some freak injuries, not ones that most athletes get, i guess its cause he plays for the halos, but he will definitely be better than sean casey if he can remain uninjured, sean casey sucks, dont talk bad cause you dont want him to do good.

So has Griffey...

And injury is an injury.

Woulda, shoulda, coulda....

Ralph Sampson woulda been a NBA hall of famer w/o injuries....
Terrell Davis woulda been an NFL hall of famer w/o injuries.....

Fact is. They're not.

can you just give the guy some credit, do you honestly think he will end upbeing a sean casey, soerry he doesnt play for cincinatti, the injury prone underachieving prospect team on the last decade, he plays for the angels, who have had studs come through there system.

When he gets healthy, Kotchman will be a force. He's still at least a year away, but I have him stashed away and once Bagwell goes, hopefully Kotchman's ready to roll. I'm banking on it.

Alright I'll bit. Whats with Casey? What are you predicting?

bsblallstr wrote:exactly my thoughts again, i dont know if he will be as good as helton, but 30+HR, a 330 BA, and 100+RBI look to be in his future if healthy, not to mention a few gold gloves like helton

a 4 year bump for casey kotchman? heh.

kotchman is good hitter, but in a normal fantasy league with 12 1bs.... there are just too many good 1bs.

I like Kotchman a lot this year and agree that he is being overlooked at a deep 1B position. For 2008 only, I've got Kotchman in the same tier as Conor Jackson and Ryan Garko -- how would you all compare Casey to these two players?

How is Kotchman a sleeper? I think everyone knows he could go .300/20. Ho-hum for an 1B. There is really not much more upside than this. There is also the injury history to take into account. He also might go .280/15 or miss a bunch of time due to injuries.

He is not a bad CI option, but I don't see how he could be called the "biggest sleeper".
