Andrew Miller = RJ II?

Postby captoats85 » Fri Jul 27, 2007 4:38 pm

John from NYC asks: Better long term prospect: Homer Bailey or Andrew Miller? why?

A: Chris Kline: See, if you said Adam Miller, it'd be a much tougher question. I go Miller anyway. I just think he's Randy Johnson waiting to happen.

He's not going to be anywhere near RJ but he has a very high ceiling, IMO. Lefty with a mid 90's fastball with decent secondary stuff = good! ;-) He just needs to keep progressing with his control and he will be very good for quite some time!

yeah, he's comparing Adam, not Andrew to RJ. Miller wont be anywhere near as good as RJ, he's probably one of the top 10 pitchers of all time, but he could win some Cy Youngs if he makes his potential.

Come on guys....

The question was who he thought was better...Bailey or Andrew Miller. He said if he would have said Adam Miller it would be a tougher/closer comparison....in other words Andrew Miller is better than Bailey and Adam Miller would have been a tougher decision. He then goes back to Andrew Miller saying he is the next RJ.....

Bailey just called up to the majors prematurely and got rocked. He needs more time in the minors before he can come up and play with his other 2007 prospect buds like Lincecum and Gallardo

I feel dumber now after reading this thread. Three guys that can't understand the original quote and then someone that provides a sentence about Homer Bailey.

I've heard the comparison to RJ quite a few times. Miller will probably not be as good as RJ, but the comparison is pretty easy. A tall lefty that throws in the high 90's with a nasty slider.

A lot of the comparison to RJ has to do with arm angles. The two look very similar. Maybe Miller = RJ lite
