I hope this post isn't annoying, but please humor me because I'm excited. In my first year of lawschool, I co-founded a sports/entertainment agency with my cousin. We ran statistical analysis to identify low-round draft picks that had potential and mailed a massive amount of letters to these players. Four years later, the agency has over 50 players, some who are close to the bigs, but none have made it. Finally, after the Scott Linebrink trade, it appears Joe Thatcher will be the agency's first major league baseball player.
In my second year of lawschool I took a job at a large law firm and I knew then that I wouldn't have the time to litigate (my passion) and be a sports agent, so I had to forfeit my interest to my cousin. I'm still with that law firm, but I've remained very close to the agency and I am occasionally offered a player that I would be the agent for every once in a while (so far I keep turning it down). We are especially excited about Yohan Pino, who is a player with the Twins that rotoworld talks about from time to time. Anyway, I know this is sort of a rant that most of you won't care about, but I'm excited and thought I'd share. Joe's getting us tickets to the game when they come to St. Louis in early August.

Wanted to post an update. My cousin is doing well with the firm we cofounded. Justin Christian's callup probably disappointed many Yankee fans (who wanted Gardner), but it made us smile here in St. Louis and he's the second client of PSEM to make the big leagues. Both him and Thatcher played for the independent team in O'fallon (the River City Rascals) - a suberb of St. Louis. That's evidence that major league talent sometimes falls through the cracks or develops late.
I've met Justin and he is a guy you'd definitely root for. He works really hard and can talk baseball over a beer.
Again, I don't want to litter the forum with boring stories, but it's fun to share; especially with the Cafe. This site has taught me a ton. I hadn't heard of Tango or the Abstract until visiting here. So...a big "Thank You" to the Cafe, I guess, and my apologies for "clogging the forum" with material that cannot possibly be relevant to your fantasy teams (unless Christian gets PT, because I swear he can steal like crazy).
**Also, Yohan Pino, who I realized was referenced in my post, left us for personal reasons.
