utley was plunked right in his hand today. he finished out the game, but was in obvious pain, and there was a lot of swelling. a potential break of the hand is possible. stay tuned for the x-ray results.

Oh this would be the topper...I just don't see the guy finishing the game if he had a broken bone though. 9 times out of ten, you're going to feel it when he made any kind of jarring contact - fielding a grounder, swining the bat, etc....

He got hit in the 5th, and he finished the game. He batted twice after getting hit, so I would also be shocked if it was that serious. But this would completely suck if he's out.

Well Tejada played through a broken wrist for a couple games before he even felt anything...
I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was a similar type break to the hand...something thats even hard for x-rays to detect...and if theres a break he could easily be out a months time
This would be awful news as Utley has been maybe one of the 5 most valuable fantasy players this season...hopefully its just a contusion

you have your information wrong, tejada got hit in the hand/wrist, continued to run the bases and was taken out at the end of the inning, he had 1 ab in the next game (a bunt in an attempt to keep his games played streak alive) and has been on the dl since. so he did not play a couple of games before feeling something, he actually felt it as soon as he was hit...utleys situation seems to be completely different as a previous poster said he stayed in and played the field and had 2 more abs
