What injury? I have seen nothing on this.

Gary Sheffield, who was scratched from the starting lineup on Wednesday due to a sore shoulder, was expected to receive a cortisone injection.
Sheffield received a shot in the same shoulder two weeks ago. He could return to the starting lineup this weekend.

Sheff's injury doesn't sound serious and it appears it was more of a night off:

Sheffield has soreness in his right shoulder and will take the night off with a day game on the agenda for Detroit on Thursday. The shoulder soreness does not appear to be anything serious, so he should be back in the lineup on Thursday.
