He walked off the mound in the fifth inning with a strained left groin, but he suffered the injury during a one inning emergency relief assignment in Sunday's 10-inning loss to the Mets.
Lowe is scheduled for an MRI Thursday morning, but if he couldn't do his job three days after being injured, chances are he'll be on the disabled list before he's back on the mound. He lands on the injured leg and said he feels a sharp pain every time.

While the Dodgers weren't discussing his MRI, Derek Lowe said Thursday that he could make his next start. Lowe left Wednesday's game due to a strained groin. "I'm doing good, doing good," he said. "I can't see it lingering on for a long time."
7/27: It looks like Derek Lowe owners can breathe a sigh of relief. Strength tests on the pitcher's groin suggested the strain was mild, and Lowe said he wasn't feeling any pain. It doesn't look like he'll have to miss a start because of the ailment, according to the LA Times. "We can't see it being serious," said Lowe. Results of an MRI will be known today. "I don't think it's going to be too bad," manager Grady Little said.
The MRI report showed that the left groin is fine but the injury is actually a "slightly irritated left hip." Watch out for more news of the situation in the upcoming days to see if Lowe will make his next scheduled start.
Lowe didn't experience any pain in his groin while throwing on flat ground Friday and plans to throw today off a mound
But Lowe wasn't ready to declare himself fit to make his next start.
