Late rounds, probably. Depends on how he finishes the season. He's showing a little power lately, but still striking out a lot from what I've read. There are so many good 3rd basemen out there, so since I don't have the rest of the season to judge I'd just say if it ended today I'd pick Fields toward the end of the draft as a sleeper, a $1-2 pickup in an auction, that type of thing.

Right, which is partly what prompted this message. And, check out his minor league numbers.
I see him as better than Akinori Iwamura, who was a drafted prospect in most leagues this year. I figure drafting fields as a backup-3B will be wise... As for predictions for his overall numbers next year, who knows.
Coming into tonight's action was hitting .360 vs. lefties, .194 vs. righties. Tomorrow he faces Verlander, so if he has any kind of success tomorrow then I might think the kid is turning the corner.
