example:
Jeff Kent, he hit in fotn of BArry Bonds in 2002... look at his 3 year numbers
2001 (hit behind Barry): HR RBI AVG 22 106 .298
2002 (In front of Barry): HR RBI AVG 37 108 .313
2003 (in a hitters park, No Barry): HR RBI AVG 22 93 .297
Thats Kent, Aurillia is the same for 2001 when he hit in fornt of Bonds
Lets look at Giles... he had a great year batting IN FRONT OF Sheff... but lets look at his numbers when he hit in other spots...
#2 (In Front of Sheff): Ab HR RBI AVG 505 20 61 .317
#6(Behind Sheff): Ab HR RBI AVG 5 0 1 .200
#8 (Behind Sheff): Ab HR RBI AVG 33 1 5 .303
Giles wont be hitting 15 home runs this year...

you cant compare sheffield to bonds. you cant compare anyone to bonds. giles is a solid player, and will be hitting in front of jones and jones, so i mean there are still some guys there that can hit him in. As far as his other stats will go, this will be only his second full season....i can only see this guy getting better.
Marcus Giles hit in front of Sheff last year, in his first full season and hit 20+ HR. Now he's hitting in front of the Jones boys. I don't see a decline in HR's. He will eventually be one of the top 2B's in baseball, along with Rickie Weeks. And by then, Soriano will be in the OF and Kent and Boone will be retired.

That was a total of what, 38 ABs hitting anywhere besides in front of sheff? Compared to 505 in front of sheff. Whether there is truth to the fact that he only did well hittin in front of sheff those numbers definitely won't be the ones that convince me.
Larry and Druw should provide enough protection anyway.
Sheffield wasn't the one hitting the 21 hr's and 49 doubles that Marcus did. The player does that, not the player after the player. Marcus is a stud. Wasn't Kent hurt anyway? DL? Boo for those stats.

I think I'd prefer Larry and Andy to Larry and Druw. This could of course cause confusion when Mr. Marte gets called up, so maybe Druw is a better nickname afterall.
