I apologize if this has been covered. Have the Brewers indicated whether Gallardo will stay in the rotation once sheets is back? They would be crazy not to the way he is pitching, but I need to be sure. I only have one F.A. pickup left for the rest of the season, and I'm considering using it to grab Gallardo, even though its still only July.
I don't believe the Brewer's brass would make any announcement until Sheets is ready to come back. If they were to announce Gallard would remain in the rotation, then a couple of other pitchers would become upset, which would affect their pitching.
Suffice it to say if Gallardo continues pitching the way he has been, he probably wouldn't be the one removed from the rotation, IMO.
I personally would use the FA to pick him up. Too much upside not too.

I think they may send him back to the pen for a little but bring him back up within a month cause I see no reason why they wouldnt want him in the playoff rotation, but they still want to keep his arm fresh

I don't think they would even consider putting him back in the middle relief role the way he's pitched. He's ONLY been their absolute best pitcher and starter by far since he came up. No way ever they would move him back. Take one of the 4-5 era guys and stick him in there..Not the stud.
I'd guess he's in the rotation to stay until he gets hammered a couple times. He might even stick after a couple rough outings since I think Suppan totally sucks and a sucky Gallardo is better than a sucky Suppan.
IMO, he's better than Bush, Capuano, or Suppan.

I think he goes back to long relief if/when Sheets returns, assuming nobody else has gotten injured by then. Capuano and Bush seem to have righted their respective ships recently after some seriously ugly stretches, and the Brewers have a ridiculous winning pct. when Vargas starts. Nobody in fantasy likes Suppan, but he's a starter, period. In other words, nobody's pitched themselves out of a job ... and you've got to remember management originally left Gallardo out of the rotation in order to keep down his innings. With a healthy Sheets, that will remain the plan.
Stat on ESPN the other day: In the 11 Capuano starts since May the Brewers have gone 0-11. If Yost and the rest of the Brewers management don't see that this screams for Gallardo to stay in the rotation then they deserve to all be fired. No team has ever lost a pitchers 9 or more straight starts and made the playoffs.
