Isn't Ray supposed to pitch today to see if he is going on the DL or not?
Let's go Mets!

BALTIMORE -- Right-hander Chris Ray was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday by the Baltimore Orioles, who hope an extended rest will enable their closer to recover from a sore elbow.
.....
Trembley said the closer's role will be filled on a rotating basis. Jamie Walker earned saves in each of the Orioles' last two wins, but Paul Shuey and Chad Bradford are also viable options.

Per rotoworld 8/4.

Hours after being named the Orioles' closer, Danys Baez earned his first save Friday with a scoreless ninth inning against the Devil Rays.

Jamie Walker tossed a scoreless eighth inning to bridge the gap from Daniel Cabrera to Baez. While Walker and Chad Bradford have been far more effective than Baez, manager Dave Trembley prefers to have them available in the seventh and eighth innings, leaving Baez to do things like convert two-run saves like he did Friday night.

Walker was doing great as the Orioles (temp) closer. Why Baez now gets the job all of a sudden baffles me.

But hey .... if it ain't broke, fix it until it is !! :-t

The silver lining here is that finally Baltimore has one closer and no more cbc.
