Heads Up to Chris B. Young/Eric Byrnes Owners

Postby StlSluggers » Tue Jul 24, 2007 1:47 pm

Manager Bob Melvin has said he is giving the green light more often to Young and Eric Byrnes.

Something worth noting...

Byrnes has 9 SB in his last 9 games (and 11 in July...6 was his previous high in a month)

Young has 3 SB is his last 3 games (6 in July...3 was the previous monthly high).

Top Notch!

Good to know, if Young stays in that leadoff spot it can bode very well for his value despite the low avg.

I was watching Arizona play the Cubs, and thought... Dang, Young is friggin fast, I can't believe he doesn't steal more. Good to know that he might start since I have him in 2 leagues.

Been waiting all year for some consistency from this guy. Flashes of awesomeness and then 0-a lot. Maybe this can get him going in the right direction and lift that BA a bit. :-°

They realized that he hits much better out of the lead-off spot. So, even though he was struggling, they stuck him in there and he's been doing well since. Hopefully they go with him there for the rest of the season.

Exactly what I was thinking Hart has really dropped of lately and I have been eyeing Young or Pierre as a replacement for Hart. I will probably lean towards Younng b/c power is rewarded more in my league than SB's are. Pierre has to get on base to use his best weapon were as Young offers more rounded upside.
