I'm in eighth place right now, but its only 1 1/2 games to get into the playoffs and 5 to get to second, so can I make that jump?

That is definitely an above average team. Though you have weak spots, you are very balanced.

I'd see what happens within the week or two, considering the trade deadline.

Also, I'd be just trying to find out what I can get for what players over that time, and if you fall out, or the right deals come along, you take them, because even though you might get the last spot of the playoffs, you are still the long shot to win. Look for the future too.
