Maddux to Yankees?

Postby Mookie4ever » Sun Feb 08, 2004 7:06 pm

why not?

The Yanks are one of the few teams with the need and the ability and willingness to spend the bucks that Maddux is demanding.

Why is Boras saying the East coast teams are not in the running yet? Are the only teams in contention the Cubs, Cards and Giants?

It seems like a perfect fit. It's also one of the few places where his fantasy value would go up.

Just my opinion but I dont think he would want to play there.

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

I have heard Maddux say he wanted to stay on the west coast. I know the Cubs have jumped into the bidding but I figured he would go to L.A. or S.F.

I hope the Yanks don't get Maddux. Not sure how well he will do this season.

i dont want maddux on the team. he will demand alot of money and his quest for win # 300 will be a distraction to the team. we should give leiber and contreras their shots at the rotation.

more importanly, maddux likes the NL. he likes batting and views DH's as an impediment to his success...especially at this point in his career.

I'd like to point out that the Yankees don't need another right handed starter.

Vazquez - righty
Mussina - righty
brown - righty
contreras - righty
lieber - righty

Red Sox record against left-handed pitching last year: 26-27
