Adam Dunn Possibly to Nationals

Postby Roberto Clemente » Mon Jul 23, 2007 1:17 am

I do not know if this info has been previously posted on this forum or another one on this web site yet?

If so...I am sorry. The below copy and paste was taken from Rotoworld. Link follows.

>>The Nationals have discussed Adam Dunn with the Reds, FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal reports.

No deal is close, but the Reds felt the Nationals were serious enough to send scouts to watch the Single-A Potomac team that's loaded with most of the Nationals' best position prospects. Dunn and RFK would seem to be a terrible fit, but the Nationals are playing for 2008, when they'll be in a new ballpark. Of course, Dunn has the option of becoming a free agent after this season, meaning the Nationals may be acquiring little more than draft picks if they pulled off a trade. However, they would to their best to entice him to stay. That he'd be reunited with good friend Austin Kearns would improve the sales pitch. Jul. 23 - 12:56 am et<<

wow, why?

I highly doubt that Dunn would re-sign after this year so they'll be renting him for what? they arent even close to being a playoff team and I have no Idea why theyre buyers

stupid, almost as dumb as keeping Soriano at the deadline last year and watching him leave in the off-season for nothing in return

yeah this post would make sense if I was talking about when they traded for him

I said they were stupid for not trading him when they had him last year at the deadline and were getting offered a bunch of prospects and talent and kept him anyway, knowing that he wouldnt re-sign

This is true... they tried to kid themselves into thinking they had a shot to win a bidding war and re-signing him...

Stupid, stupid move..

Getting Dunn would be almost as bad considering they are at least 3 years away from being an average MLB team.

My condolences to Ryan Zimmerman....

Wow and I thought the Phillies had the worst GM in the game after failing to put together a decent pitching staff. This would so have him beat. Of course the Reds GM is an idiot too so maybe the Nats wouldn't be giving up much more then the bat boy. Either way I can't imagine Dunn wanting to stay there long term.
