Veto, Lester and Overbay are total afterthoughts. Shields is good, but not terriffic. Lee is great, but the quality of the talent going to the third place team is too high.

Santana > Carlos Lee
Peavy >> Shields
Lowe >> Lester
Durham = Overbay

I don't get the trade and I'm not quite sure why the 13th place team feels the need to part with both of the top 2 SPs in all of baseball. Why not just a simple Lee for Peavy swap? Why all of the additional garbage?

I'd veto it. It looks like Team B doesn't know what it's doing. I could understand if he wanted to deal pitching for offense, but Johan/Peavy is a ton more valuable than C. Lee/Shields.

No Veto - its close enough. Clearly the 3rd place team get the better end, but I'd assume the 13th place team has a poor offense and needs more help there. He gets the best bat back with Lee. Not a good deal, but not vetoable.

Man, I hate vetoing but I would really like to know what the 13th place team is thinking here.

Depends on what you consider vetoable: if you believe unfair is, then it just depends on whether you think it's unfair (I think it favors one side, but not that it's terribly unfair: Peavy hasn't been pitching as well lately and Lowe is hurt).

I consider collusion to be the only vetoable condition, so I wouldn't veto it just based on those grounds anyway.

i would ask team B what he is thinking. if he just really needed a good bat, and had no need for SP, then let it go. true he could have gotten better value for johan and peavy, but thats just his bad. if you hear something fishy in his response...then yes veto
