The Yankees are calling up Shelley Duncan from Triple-A for Friday's game.
Chris's brother and Dave's son will be making his major league debut. The 27-year-old Duncan was hitting .295/.380/.577 in the International League. The Yankees can hope for some Shane Spencer-type magic, but he's likely to prove to be a quad-A player.

Yankees purchased the contract of first baseman Shelley Duncan from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Duncan would need for the Yankees to give Johnny Damon some time off in order to have any fantasy value at all. The other possibility would be a slump from Andy Phillips. As things stand now, he doesn't figure to play much.
27 is pretty old for a rookie, so it's not surprising that it sounds like he won't have much value.
