Power Out to St. Louis Arch; People Stuck Inside

Postby JTWood » Sat Jul 21, 2007 11:48 pm

This is being reported on local media. I'll have to see if there's a link on a web site.

If you've ever been in the Arch, you'll understand how much being stuck inside one of those Arch trams would absolutely suck. They've been there at least 90 minutes now.

Okay, here's a link.

240 people trapped, and Ameren is the power company for the Arch. How appropriate.

A spokesperson for the Arch says this usually never occurs.

No clue why, but that struck me as really funny. :-b

Hopefully they will get everyone out soon. ;-D
Yes doctor, I am sick.
Sick of those who are spineless.
Sick of those who feel self-entitled.
Sick of those who are hypocrites.
Yes doctor, an army is forming.
Yes doctor, there will be a war.
Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

Usually never isn't a term that makes a lot of sense. :-b

It's like saying 90% of the time it works all the time.

Usually never occurs. Just like how Ameren usually never does a good job. :-D

Over the weekend, our local NBC station preempted Saturday Night Live to run coverage of the Arch fiasco. They were obviously running on skeleton crew. The anchor was terrible, and they kept cutting to the weather man for color commentary. So, all of this awful and boring commentary is going on while SNL is being preempted. A buddy of my buddy got bored with hit, so he called the station and said that he was actually trapped in the Arch. They promptly put him on the air.
