Erik Bedard value?

Postby YardBirds » Sat Jul 21, 2007 8:21 pm

I am involved in the Cafe Real GM Mock Trade and have been offered two deals for Bedard, and I am having trouble gauging the value of the trades.

1st - Balentien, Tuiasosopo, + but have not named anyone else yet but I'm thinking Tony Butler. (Seattle)

2nd - Elbert, Young, and Abreu. (LAD)

3rd - None of the Above

As the manager of the Orioles I am looking for some OF and CI depth as Mora and Tejada should be on their way out and our CF/LF need a little work, plus getting a project lhp would be nice. What do you guys think?

I don't think Bedard is free agency eligible until next offseason, so you should be able to get quite a bit more for him then that. A good young pitcher for 18 months should bring you something very solid in return. Heck hit the Braves up for Salty or the Drays up for some outfield talent or even the Mets for Martinez.
