How much longer can Torre leave this clown in as the 8th inning guy? I'd rather see Vizcaino in there for now and eventually see Proctor take over. It seems like they were grooming Proctor for this last year and Vizcaino has been solid since the start of June. Farnsworth is too much of a liability in the 8th to keep that position. Anyone else see him miss Andy Phillips by a good two or three feet the other night and then proceed to hang a slider to give up the lead? The baserunner wasn't even off the bag yet!

Anyone else see any other options for the Yankees in the 8th right now? What are the options with Farnsworth? I wish he'd get traded but I don't see that happening with the money he's making and his lack of ability to get three outs in a row.

Manager Joe Torre said Wednesday that he's considering removing Kyle Farnsworth as Mariano Rivera's primary setup man.

If Farnsworth gets demoted to middle relief, Luis Vizcaino figures to take over eighth-inning duties. "I think we're going to have to sit and think about it," Torre said.

Farnzy's problem is he has no movement on his fastball, it's just fast. I'll admit I haven't watched him much since his days with the Cubs, but for certain back then he just went out there and threw hard. Well, that's nice and all and 100mph on the gun will really impress the chicks, but MLB hitters can hit a straight-line fastball pretty well.

If that kid ever developed movement on his fastball, like a late tailing action or something, he would be scary good. As it is, he's more of a pitching oddity than anything else.
