LeCroy or Wilson...

I like both Wilson and Lecroy, but Wilson's job is in just as much jeopardy as Lecroy's. The Pirates have picked up Daryl Ward and Chris Singleton. And now, they are looking to sign either Randall Simon or Travis Lee.

All lefthanders who play 1B or OF or both.

It's clear they are looking to platoon Wilson and that's even been mentioned by the Pirates in the Ward pick-up and the current attempts to sign Lee or Simon.

If Wilson only plays against lefties, he's not worth a pick this early. Despite the talent these two have, I would wait until very late rounds before taking a chance on them.

I would grab Looper then go with Lecroy.

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

Would it be more worthwhile to fill some other holes on the roster and take a chance on Rob Hammock later in the draft as opposed to taking Wilson/Lecroy now?

That's a good question. Hammock isn't as good as either of them, but he's supposed to get more PT. I guess it would depend on how much of a risk you want to take. If I was pretty secure in other areas, I'd rather than a chance on Wilson and Lecroy. I'm not sure either guy will last until the late rounds, though.
