I usually just post in topics that are fresh and where the points that I see haven't already been made, most of the many paged topics have a lot of people agreeing with each other for the first couple pages and then turned into an argument that no one will win. They are entertaining to read but hard to add much to.
About the whole n00b thing, it's pretty annoying when you see someone has made there first post to critique someone. For instance, making your first post saying something along the lines of "Why would you start *******?? It was so obvious he was going to do bad against that team". If you knew that before why didn't you make your first post to tell us your insightful info. Other than that I don't really notice post counts, just names and avatars.
Please, do NOT eat me! I'll give you horrible gas!
It's okay(devouring...)
Does anybody actually pay attention to post count? I mean if people pay more attention to my post or acs's post instead of RUMPs, then they deserve to finish last in their league

However, join date sometimes means something. When someone has just joined a few days ago starts spreading rumors about so-and-so hiding an injury or whatever, that person gets ignored.

Nobody likes a cocky, arrogant Vet, either. The vast majority of Cafegians don't "throw their weight around" because of their post count, but I've read the "n00b" thing thrown at people with low post counts before, and all that does is show the ignorance of the "vet," not the n00b. I can't even vaguely recall seeing that more than once, but I know I have seen it before. It's rare, though. There are very few jerks at the Cafe.
I think the reason the Cafe is so large and is such a great place is that the culture here discounts vet status and does rely on the quality of the posts. As long as that is the case the Cafe will continue to be among the best of the fantasy sports forums.
But you must also watch out about join date. I joined August 27th 2004 but didn't start posting here till this year really. (Football side for 3 years and then this year I thought I'd check out this "darkside" that everyone keeps speaking about.)
Good thread, for a low post count n00b.
I read the post first and check post counts later. If what you have to say is important enough I'll usually be typing my reply without even thinking about post counts.
