As a Yankee fan born in 1985, I like watching the series as a glimpse into the past of things that I didn't get to see happen in 1977. Watching the show really puts a face on Munson, Jackson, and Martin for me, as Yankee legends, it's kind of hard to bring the situations to life in your mind without seeing it all acted out. The Son of Sam killings are kind of awkwardly interjected into the storyline, with no real connection between it and the Yankees. They could at least have players talk about the killings some or the newspaper people talking about Yankee headlines and Son of Sam headlines. All in all, I had relatively low expectations for the show, but Billy Martin is enough to keep the show interesting for me.
