Tips for framing auto'd jersey?

Postby slomo007 » Wed Jul 18, 2007 11:05 am

For my birthday, my brother got me a Griffey auto'd jersey! Considering he's easily my favorite player of all time, I'm just ecstatic and can't wait to display it. I was looking for frames on ebay, and found this but want to be sure it's something I should do myself before I buy it. I'm particularly worried about how to make it look good in the frame (ie, no wrinkles, pressed flat, etc). Obviously the last thing I would want to do is hurt the jersey somehow, but is it possible to lightly iron it on a low heat setting? Any other tips from someone who has framed a jersey before? I have the COA that I plan to display with the jersey, not sure how to go about putting it in there either. :-?

With the cost involved, I can see why you'd want to do it yourself. Here's an article I read awhile back that might have some good tips/guidelines:

The company they keep mentioning in the article seems quite expensive though. Here's that site too:

Thanks Mad....it's definitely more expensive but it would also look a LOT better. I may have to think about doing it.

You ship the jersey to them and they frame it and ship it back, that's a great business idea. It says athletes are some of their biggest customers (framing their own jerseys). Why couldn't I think of that idea?
