Matt Kemp - What Do You Know/Think?

Alright I'm looking for some info and opinions on this guy. I remember him surging a bit last year and was also interested in him then as well but he was shut down due to a crowded outfield. So what's the story on him this year? ...How much is he playing at this point? ...and will he be a regular soon, cause I'd like to pick him off the wire if he can crack the lineup everyday.

M.Kemp is pretty solid when he plays. He hit a 3-run jack tonight.

Kemp has been sharing playing time Andre Either. Kemp injured his right hamstring July 8th and it has been nagging him. Kemp has been hitting some Home Runs and stealing some bases. He was hitting .329 for Las Vegas(Dodgers Triple-A team) and is batting .380 for the Dodgers in 96 At-Bats.

It really depends on how much playing time he will get?? Also...how is his hammy going to be??

I believe Kemp is around 22 years old. He might have a higher ceiling in regards to power and steals.

He'll be in the same boat as last year. When hot he'll get more opportunities, but he still won't be an everyday starter as he'll certainly split time with others.

I think he can be helpful. He destroys Left-Hand pitching. So if he`s held away from some of the RHs, he can do wonders for your AVg , plus get you some RP, SB and HR. If you have enough production from the rest of your team, he can hurt just a little or help a bit more. Kind of like keeping a Lights-Out Mid reliever in your line-Up to help with ERA and WHP.

I love these posts. Kemp has been HOT and has hit both righties and lefties. The guy's a much better hitter than Ethier and LuGone, and yet he's stuck on the bad end of the platoon with those two (granted, both of those guys aren't doing bad, but they're not hitting .375 either!). Think of it this way, he's hit .375 batting 8th, which normally means one's not getting great pitches since the pitcher hits behind him.

The fact that he's hit .375 for the season, and is still sharing time means that he'll be sharing time the rest of the year. He also hits near the bottom of the lineup, having batted 8th for most of his starts, but is recently starting to go up in the order (woo-hoo for 7th!). Short a trade, the Dodgers will keep him from making a big splash this year, though he's perfectly capable of being, in my opinion, better than the highly touted trio of Braun, Pence and Butler if only he'd hit where those guys hit in the order.

If you are getting enough runs , RBIs and HRs from the rest of your offense, you can use Kemp to boost your average.

id take kemp the dodgers r in a deep pennant race and kemp is a very good talent with much potential this season and in coming yearss
