What is his deal this season? I flirted with trading him back in May when I feared he'd have a season like he did in 2005 ... .260ish with mediocre power numbers... Well, he is on pace for that. What, like a .240 batting average since May 1? Anyone successful in trading him yet?
Some idiot in my league is demanding premium value for him (IE Ryan Howard) because he's trading "a guy with a (Yahoo) o-rank of 4". Yahoo, please update your 3 month old O-ranks? Thanks.
As a Met fan, Beltran is driving me absolutely nuts.
As a Yankee fan, I never thought I'd be glad they passed on him. Good thing, b/c they blew it with Pavano and some would say Giambi...
Seriously, though, Met fans at work tell me he is a big baby in the sense that he whines about injuries but won't rest them, so you get two and a half months of terrible play...
Is Beltran for Hideki Matsui and Tim Lincecum a good deal to take if this is not a keeper league? I might be able to do that...
I actually traded FOR him last month in my keeper. Gave up Jeter and WIllie Harris. I thought it was a good trade at the moment. He's just been a dud ever since, this guy makes Andrew Jones look like superman.
But I'm going to have a little faith and ride this out.
I traded him and Gagne for Miggy Cabrera in my keeper last week. Since then Miggy's gone off (much to my pleasure as I previously had Scott Rolen at 3rd) and Beltran's continued to be Beltran.
