Updates on T.Gordon and B.Myers

Haha, alright then, that's cool. Does anyone know who will most likely gain the closer role between Gordon and Myers? Or is there a chance Alfonseca will still be the closer? I'm thinking it'll be Gordon. What about you guys?

Tom Gordon revealed Tuesday that he is pitching with a slight tear in the labrum of his right shoulder.
"When our doctors were shown his exam, it was typical of most pitchers who have had this type of continual work," Phillies assistant general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said. "Any time you have a pitcher who has pitched as long as he has, there's always a risk. We're confident we can manage this year and, hopefully, the next year." Gordon says he isn't 100 percent healthy, but plans on pitching through the pain.

I guess that pretty much means Myers will be closing once he returns so they can better manage Gordon's innings so he can keep pitching this season.

Jul 18 Myers (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Clearwater on Friday, the Philadelphia News reports. He threw a simulated game on Tuesday without any issues.

Recommendation: He could return in a week or so and manager Charlie Manuel has said he'll be the closer again when healthy.
